It's one of my favorite virtual instruments to pull up (and it wasn't even the full thing) so I'm excited to dig into the program proper. I haven't messed with the full Hybrid Keys yet but Komplete Start has a demo version of it in the 'Play Series Selection' and it was all over my second EP. OK I'm gonna sound like a shill for a minute but Native Instruments is giving out some free programs for the next two weeks (Hybrid Keys, a virtual instrument, and Izotope's Ozone Elements, a mastering program), go get them! Hell, maybe on everything apart from the pre-choruses 'cause when it gets to 'Well get in line', everything tightens up around that groove and it really bops.ДЄt some point I thought a part could use a vocal harmony, I keep thinking it's the 'get in line' section but now every time I listen back to it I don't hear them anymore so I guess I was wrong about them lol And maybe on the vox apart from the pre-chorus. Maybe on the droney guitar under the break after the chorus. Your xylophone/marimba (no idea what it is ) line is making me want to hear that outro guitar line drenched in some surf rock reverb/delay/tremolo. I'd also see how that sounds under the first half of the second verse.

I'd throw a LFO or some kind of filter on it. That or make the first beat of that verse even MORE pronounced if you're going for a more dramatic change. I'd almost take the drums from the very next verse and use them here instead. It's still carrying a lot of energy from the chorus. I like the break btw, good way to cool down back into the verse, and I think you could play with some dynamics there to ease that transition a bit more. Make it linger in the listener's mind thru that break afterward. That 'shockwave' at the end of the chorus is something I'd add some subtle (or not so subtle!) effects to, to make it pop as well. Once the guitar comes in it sits much better tho! Not sure if it might translate that way on other setups if you keep the mix like that. Really seems to sit in the same space as the bass. Sounds better in the more expensive buds but still doesn't pop like the choruses. What stood out to me on the cheap earbuds is that the vox in the verses just didn't stand out at all. Also like this arrangement setup you've been going with with the xylophone/marimba. The delay on the 'hey's there is something I'm doing for a song too, adds a lot of attitude and I like that. All just off the dome here so probably saying stuff you have already noticed, or is plain crazy:ДЇirstly, the way everything grooves when the guitar comes in, and the way the guitars layer to build up to the chorus, is.
